Look who's riding on 2 wheels!

Wow! She barely turned 5 and already Kellyn has learned how to ride a bike without training wheels! Yesterday was a pretty nice day, so we went outside for some fresh air when Daddy got home from work. In the garage, Kellyn found the little bike that Preston learned how to ride on and decided she was ready to give it a go. Paul held onto the seat until she told him to let go and she just took off - she had it down immediately! She even learned to get herself going after a few tries and soon decided she was ready to have the training wheels taken off her own bike. She did even better on that one! She's a natural - must get it from Daddy! :)

Happy 34th Birthday Paul!

On February 18th, Paul turned 34 years young! Happy Birthday to my wonderful husband and our kids' fantastic father!!!

Just so you know how great he is, when these pics were taken he was baking a cake with Kellyn using her new EasyBake oven! And I was sick in bed all day on his birthday, so he cleaned the house, did laundry, and took the kids to McD's and the Zoo!! What a great man!!!

Kellyn is 5 years old!!!

On Saturday the 16th we celebrated Kellyn's 5th birthday!! We kicked off the Disney Princesses themed party with pizza, then the pinata, opening presents, and finally cake and ice cream! Our friends Mitch and Christal and their son Triston came up from Tulsa to spend the weekend with us, and Kellyn was thrilled that they were here for her party. She had also gotten to bring home Theodore Bear, her preschool class mascot, so she had several special guests at the festivities!

Preston's Valentine party

Last Thursday afternoon was Preston's school Valentine party. Breckyn and I went to help out, but unfortunately we didn't get to stay long as we had to get to Kellyn's school to have her birthday party. We did get to enjoy stringing lifesaver and fruit loop "beads" onto licorice "yarn." Needless to say, these bracelets didn't last long! After that, it was time for cookies and juice. The kids were just getting ready to play some games when we left. Preston was having a blast!

Kellyn's school birthday party

Last Thursday, we had Kellyn's birthday party at her preschool. She was so excited to pass cupcakes out to her friends and sit in the birthday chair. After our snack, she got to show everyone what she brought in her "Me Bag," including the outfit she wore home from the hospital, her favorite book, tea party set, family pictures, and quilt that Nana made. To finish things up, her classmates got to ask her questions. She loved being the center of attention!

Let's get these parties started!

Yesterday, our Valentine/birthday celebrations kicked off with Kellyn's class party. As usual, there was plenty of good food and good friends! That evening, Gram and Grandad came over for dinner and brought Kellyn's birthday gift since they won't be able to make it to her party this weekend. She got a "Barbie head" with lots of hair that she can fix however she wants - maybe now she'll stop asking to fix mine! :) They also brought all the kids new T-shirts from Disney as they just got back from a nice trip to Florida, complete with a venture to Magic Kingdom! Wish we could've stowed away in their luggage!!

Family Birthday Party

Yesterday, the Hamby family got together to celebrate our kids' winter birthdays, since we're not always able to get together for each child's individual parties. We started the day getting professional pictures taken of all 8 grandkids, then went to Preston's basketball game at the Y. He played well and even scored the first 2 points to get the game started! We picked up pizza on the way back to our house and had a little party here, complete with birthday cookies and presents. The weather cooperated nicely, and the kids got to spend some time playing outside as well. We finished up our party at the bowling alley. They didn't have any lanes with bumpers available, but the kids still managed to do a pretty good job of knocking down the pins. We had a great day and are already looking forward to our summer birthday party in a few months!

Redneck Variety Show

It's amazing how much joy and laughter a cheap pair of pantyhose can bring you! This kept us entertained for at least 15 minutes. Unfortunately, Breckyn opted to be an audience-only participant, so no pics of her.
